8 Week Check Up and More Pictures

Carmen had her 8 week check up yesterday. She will be 10 weeks this Friday and is doing excellent. She now weighs 12lbs 5 oz. The doctor was very pleased with everything and mentioned that he thinks she will be walking by 10 months! She also received her first set of immunizations which was not so fun.

She is also sleeping through the night now!

For those that don't know, Amy's younger sister Allison had her daughter, Morgan, this past Saturday. Amy and Carmen gave Allison and Morgan a ride home today. This is a picture of the two girls in the back of aunt Amy's Element.

anxiously waiting for any news.

Healthy

The pediatrician just gave Carmen a clean bill of health. We need to
maintain our supplemental feeding. He also recommended an oral motor therapist to help with her 'disorganized' feeding pattern. She goes back to the pediatrician in one week.

We're Up!

Supplementing her feeding is working. Carmen is back up to 7lbs 5ozs!

Legit

Carmen is now registered and we should be getting her birth
certificate in the mail in the next couple of weeks.

Eat!

We've had a couple of busy days at home. Carmen had her first visit
with the pediatrician on Monday. She is doing well but has lost 13% of
her body weight. This is about 3% more than normal. The doctor asked
to supplement her feeding with formula. We have a follow up visit on
Wednesday.

Today, Amy visited her school to see her 5th graders off to middle
school. The students and staff have been generous with their gifts and
words throughout Amy's pregnancy.

We also visited a lactation specialist today. Carmen's weight loss is
in part due to what the specialist described as a "disorganized" suck
pattern. Who knew?!
