First Doctor Visit

Happy Thanksgiving!

We got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon after both Caleb and Amy were both given a clean bill of health. Caleb slept pretty well giving Amy and I a chance to catch up on some much needed rest. I'll be posting more photos of him over the next few days. Thank you to everyone for helping us out and for all of the kind words. We love you all and are thankful for everybody in our lives!

Two Carmens

After Caleb was born we had an unexpected guest come by our room. Most of you know the story of how Carmen was named (if not ask, us some time). Carmen (the nurse) heard that we were back at the hospital for the delivery of our second child and came by to visit. Our Carmen was fortunate enough to be there to meet her namesake.

At 12:33 Baby Trickey 2 arrived!!

Getting There

Amy is now 7cm dilated. We are checking to see if she can start pushing!

Progress

Long slow night. Amy's water broke at about 6:00 this morning. She just got her epidural as her contractions have started to intensify.

New Room

Amy had progressed so we have been transferred to a labor and delivery room. The nurse will be administering pitocin soon so hopefully we can really get this party started.

More progress but not enough to move on. Next check is at ~9:45. The baby looks good and Amy's blood pressure is down.

Big Sister

Waiting

No action overnight. Amy will receive another dose of medicine to soften her cervix. That means waiting another 6 hrs, at which she will be checked again.

We've been to the doctor a few times this week as Amy's blood pressure has been up. They have therefore decided to induce. We are headed to the hospital late tonight but don't expect any action until tomorrow morning at the earliest. Stay tuned!

If you don't remember, Carmen's room used to look like this. With B2 on the way we decided to convert our Guest Room/ My Office/ Guitar Room/ Amy's Craft area into a combined bedroom for Carmen and B2. Here is what it looked like before the conversion:
